National Honor Society: What you need to know

Rayn Sova, Writing

If you’re interested in NHS, I have news for you. Every year students are invited to join an organization called National Honor Society. “Really it’s a 3.5 GPA or higher,” said organizer, Brittany Catalano. Students who do not meet the requirements of 30 hours community service and 3.5 gpa may also be invited their following year, but not every student makes it in. “The goal is to really kind of connect you to the school and the community,” said Catalano. Although NHS is geared towards college bound students, many previous students have expressed how National Honor Society makes an impact in their lives.“The best thing is getting the satisfaction of doing something nice for someone and understanding you don’t always have to have a reward to get that warm feeling,” said senior, Drew Berish. This club gives unique opportunities for students to reach out and help their community. If any students are interested, talk to Catalano in room 43.
