On October 3, 2019 history was made when the Mason Bulldogs played Everett High school for the very first annual Bronze Cup final, held at the home of the Bulldogs.

The score hit 2-0 when the final buzzer went off and the crowd started to cheer, as the Bulldogs came away with the trophy and the pride to go along with it. Goals were scored by Senior Nathan Madery, and Sophomore Matthew Gearhart.

“It felt good to win the trophy last night, especially because our season has been a little rough,” Junior Jack Creamer said, “I think that this has given us the right mindset going into Districts on Wednesday.” The Bulldogs came out ready to play right out of the gate and controlled the game. They possessed the ball for 90% of the game and had plenty of chances to score. First goal was scored off of a free kick by Senior captain Nathan Madery right outside the 18 about 25 minutes into the first half.

Going into the locker room at halftime with the score being 1-0 they thought that they could be playing better, but also knew that they had this game in the bag. As the coaches entered the room went silent until they talked. When the Bulldogs took the field at the beginning of the second half they were electric. They finished the game with ease finished the game.

This game meant a lot to this team because of the way that their season has gone this year. The team started off with zero wins this year until the Haslett game more then half way into the season, and since that game they have been on a roll with a record of 6-1-1. “Dreams don’t always have to be dreams.” Sophomore Matthew Gearhart said.
