Monday, October 15 seniors and juniors went head to head. With the kickoff from Mackenzie Strickland, the game was commencing. “One of the biggest things for us was being strong minded. We knew we were small in numbers compared to last year, but we did not want that to stop us. We wanted to play a fair, tough game and that’s what led us to the win,” said senior Mackenzie Strickland. The first half went by quickly with the seniors scoring two touchdowns. One of which was a ‘wrong ball’ fake out from Haley Presley. The student section roared, some boo-ing, some cheering, as the first half came to an end.

“The seniors were up at 14 points and in the first half we were still at 0. I think the encouraging words and teamwork in the locker room helped us bounce back in the last half,” said junior, Hirah Abbasi.

Running back on the field, both teams were fired up and ready to win. With 48 minutes left on the clock, the juniors scored their first and final touchdown and field goal.

Although this game was about what grade was going to win, most players seen it as a way to create a bigger bond with each other. “The powderpuff game was a really fun team bonding experience, the juniors had a very good sense of team unity and were all hardworking and unselfish! … We’re all very excited to play next year!” said Macie Ries. Overall, both teams walked off the field with teammates and newfound friends, stopping to take pictures with opponents and supporters.
